More than 1000 students in Harrison County are contacted through the Harrison County 4-H program. The 4-H programs provide education and personal and citizenship development for youth through participation in over 50 projects, activities, and camps. 4-H also provides opportunities for development of:
  • Leadership and volunteerism skills
  • Improving life skills, diet, and safety choices
  • Awareness and education about Natural Resources and the environment and proper procedures to insure their protection
  • Development of communication, interpersonal, and family skills
  • Agriculture profitability, production, and safety education for Harrison County Youth
  • Retaining and increasing the number of youth in agricultural careers including production and agribusiness.

No-Till Seeder provided to the Harrison County 4-H Council by the Harrison County Soil Conservation District to raise funds for 4-H programming.

The 4-H program is supported by various agencies, businesses and individuals. Without their monetary support, volunteerism, skills, and time, the 4-H program would not provide the tremendous benefit to the youth of Harrison County as it does.

Area, State and National 4-H Champion teams and individuals in soils judging, livestock judging, horse judging, horse bowl, clothing and textiles, fashion revue, National 4-H Congress, and National Conference.
