PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Cynthiana held a public hearing at 6:30 P.M. on August 26, 2003 in the Commissioner’s Room at City Hall for the purpose of receiving comments regarding the grant application under the Land and Water Conservation Act of 1965. |

Charleen McIlvain, City Clerk, advised the City of Cynthiana had submitted an application for a grant under the Land and Water Conservation Act of 1965. The City of Cynthiana has a payment due in May 2004 on a piece of property to be used for recreational purposes. The grant application was for $50,000.00 with a $50,000.00 match from the City of Cynthiana. If the Land and Water Conservation Fund grant is received, the grant will be used to make the payment for acquisition of the park land. |

Mayor Wells questioned if there were any comments or questions regarding this application. |

|
|
Commissioner Doan questioned if these were federal funds. Charleen McIlvain advised these were federal funds through the Department of Interior that oversees the national park service. These monies are channeled down through the State for dispersion. These funds are intended to assist the City with the cost of the land. |

There were no further comments, and Mayor Wells declared the hearing closed at 6:37 P.M. |
