The City of Cynthiana Board of Commissioners met in a special session on September 11, 2003 at 3:30 P.M. for the purpose of setting tax rates.  Present were Mayor Wells, Commissioner Conner, Commissioner Doan, Commissioner Martin, Leroy Conners, Tony

Kearns, Chief Stinson, Charleen McIlvain, and Kathy Brooks.

Mayor Wells called the meeting to order and stated the purpose.

Charleen McIlvain read Ordinance # 1373 setting the ad valorem tax rate for year 2004.  Commissioner Doan made a motion to accept the first reading of Ordinance #1373.  Commissioner Martin seconded.

In favor:  Commissioner Conner:  yes;  Commissioner Doan:  yes;

Commissioner Martin:  yes;  Mayor Wells:  yes;  Opposed:  none.  Motion carried.

Charleen McIlvain read Ordinance #1374 setting the tax rate on real and tangible property for 2003.  Commissioner Conner made a motion

to accept the first reading of Ordinance #1374.  Commissioner Doan seconded.  In favor:  Commissioner Conner:  yes;  Commissioner Doan:  yes;  Commissioner Martin:  yes;  Mayor Wells:  yes;  Opposed:  none.  Motion carried.
