If you have visited 141 East Pike Street lately, you have probably noticed two new faces in City Hall. Last month, the City Commission voted to hire two full-time duty clerks for the first time in ten years. The City received around 60 applications, and it was a competitive process, eventually leading to Sarah Northcutt and Autumn Terhune getting the job.
Sarah Northcutt is the daughter of Stephen and Rachel Northcutt and is a 2020 graduate of Harrison County High School. Sarah resides in Harrison County with her boyfriend, Casey Hill, and his daughters. Sarah has been working on this year's property tax bills and Training on the city systems.
Autumn Terhune is the daughter of Katherine Russell and is a 2019 Harrison County High School graduate. Autumn resides in Harrison County with her husband, Gannon, and son, Knox. Autumn is focusing on occupational licenses and will be taking over roles from Samantha Wright, who will be retiring next month.
Twenty-four-year veteran of City Hall, Jamie Hutchison, said, "They are so nice, smiley, and are catching on very quickly." Hutchison started at the City as an office assistant before moving up to utility clerk and eventually City Clerk.
Regarding the two new deputy clerks, Leslie Mullet has this to say: "Training is going great. It is nice to train two people so eager to learn and excel at their new job."
