02/19/25 - A message from Republic Services

The City of Cynthiana encourages you to recycle!

The City of Cynthiana received roughly 1.6 million dollars in ARPA funds (American Rescue Plan Act of 2021). Here is the breakdown of our allocation of the funds. Infrastructure Improvements - $870,000 (Low Head Dam Safety Improvement, School Connector Roads/Roundabout, Downtown Wi-Fi, Road Improvement in Business Park, Water Tank Project, Storm Water project) Economic Development/Investments - $300,000 (Land Acquisition of Industrial Site, Land Acquisition for future business sites) Quality of Life/Parks - $360,000 (Baseball/softball fields, Riverwalk/Park improvements, Splash Pad) City Services - $75,000 (Maintenance Barn, Future Fire station expansion) The City used $1,102,000 of those above ARPA funds as matches for grants that are bringing $20,750,000 of Federal/State grant dollars into the community.

Leaf Pick-up Update
Residents still needing leaf pick up may call City Hall to have their leaves picked up until the third week of December.
The Cynthiana-Harrison County E911 Center is hiring!

Commissioner Mattmiller and City Hall staff are ready for this weekend's holiday celebrations: at 6 pm tonight is the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, and tomorrow at 5 pm is the WCYN Cynthiana Christmas Parade.

Yesterday morning, another officer was added to Cynthiana's Police Force - Ilan Bear.

Please note the schedule change of trash pick-up over the next few days.

The City of Cynthiana is now accepting applications for a part-time Code Enforcement Officer.

Today Officer Richard Dean Hutchison was sworn into Cynthiana Police Department.
