The City of Cynthiana was established in 1793 along the banks of the South Fork of the Licking River. Cynthiana is located in the “golden triangle”, 28 miles from Lexington, 90 miles from Louisville, and 60 miles from Cincinnati, and has served for many years as the hub of commerce, education, and government for Harrison County and surrounding communities.

Change in Siren Test - City sirens will be tested weekly on Wednesdays at noon, beginning Feb 6.  Sirens had been tested monthly on the first Tuesday at 7 pm.  These sirens are to alert citizens of threatening weather.

Jul 25 - Adult and Family Programs at the  Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library - As part of the community art walk the library will be hosting local artist Chris Franklin from 10:00-12 noon as he creates comic art sketches and answers questions about the comic industry. We will also have a free draw area where you can create your own artwork.
